Photographer Kate Lesueur Shares Her Picks For Austin’s Cooler Temperatures

Now that we are nearing the middle of November, autumn temperatures have finally descended upon Austin, TX. With highs in the 70s, it’s practically chilly by Austin’s standards. This has many of us reaching for our sweaters and giving in to the temptation to bundle up, despite the fact it’s only 65 degrees outside. We’ve been patient, and it’s now time to indulge in some of the more cozy perks of autumn. To help you as you stock up for the cooler months ahead, we’ve asked photographer Kate LeSueur to share some of the things she’s reaching for this holiday season from local shops around Austin as well as some of her styling tips.

How would you describe your personal style?

Androgynous and comfortable. Quality and connection are key.

What kinds of things do you usually gravitate for when go shopping for yourself?

Trousers. A good white tee. Great sneakers.

What do you think are the most important elements in discovering personal style?

You have to trust your instinct. It's easy to get caught up in what's happening all over the internet, but you have to trust what you love and go with it. I think the more confident and comfortable you feel in what you wear, the more distinct and consistent your style becomes (like anything, really). Then it's just automatic, and one less thing you have to think about.

What are you looking forward to the most now that the weather is finally cooler and the holiday season is drawing closer?

Being with family for the holidays. Lots of gumbos. LOTS of oysters. In terms of clothes, wearing my husband’s sweatshirts, and a heavy wool coat.

What's your best tip to give to those beginning their holiday shopping now?

I think I need tips from these people who are starting now...
