Get Revved Up for the Handbuilt Motorcycle Show

Austin riders are looking at a busy weekend! Not only is the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas taking place, but the second annual Handbuilt Motorcycle Show is back after a successful inaugural year. Hosted by Revival Cycles and presented by Moto Guzzi, the free public event was designed to engage and include anyone interested in motorcycles and moto-culture.

Beginning Friday, the grounds at Fair Market will transform into a motorists dream come true, with a showcase of purpose-built machines from vintage road racing motorcycles to modern custom motorcycles and everything in between. But bikes are only one part of the celebration. The show also offers a curated selection of art by artists worldwide and live entertainment including The American Motordrome Wall of Death—a performance of death-defying stunts on vintage machines every hour.

After the warm reception of last year’s show, Revival Cycles decided to extend this year’s event by a day meaning, a significantly larger number of motorcycles on display, more mediums of art, and an improved venue and services. And while the show might continue to expand and grow over the years, the heart of the event remains the same: to celebrate craftsmanship.

“Our goal is to bring universal awareness to the individually fulfilling craft of creating something with one’s own hands,” Joey Ornelas from Revival Cycles says. “Motorcycles, photography and metalwork just happen to be our stock-in-trade, but we strive to embrace, encourage and inspire builders and creators in all mediums of all skill-sets and interests.”
